The wind whistles over me,
Whispers secrets in my ear
The restless chatter of a bird on a fence,
Furious that we have come near
The sun setting over palms
And tall eucalypt trees
Dappled afternoon light blinding me
Warmth from the days heat still settling
Smell of the grass as we step upon the green
The scent of jasmine, roses and frangipani
filling the air with sweet seduction
Breathing deeply we are seduced
Walking on we marvel at the wonders of nature
Open to eyes that wish to see
The scattering of purple petals from a Jacaranda Tree
From a sudden unexpected gust of wind
The sunset streaks a rainbow of colour
pinks, reds and oranges
As the orb of warmth slips beneath the sea
Twilight comes calling, we head home, we three.
