My Grandpa

This a sad and toughing poem

When my dad told me

My grandpa had died

I started to cry

He died in December
on a Tuesday he was
69 years old

I miss him so much

Sometimes when I
think about him it
makes me cry, some
times it makes me
happy

When my grandpa died
it felt like a hole had been
made in my heart

When I talk about him it
made me sad in a way,
but in another way it
made me happy

He will always be in my

heart <3

When my grandpa died, it was really hard for me because he was the only grandpa that I knew.

Very sweet poem!! It reads exactly like a story would, but I think ANY poem has that potential. I wrote one about my Grandpa and it was one of a few that followed no form or discipline of any kind. I just wrote it and talked about his mission being the last one of WW2. He was a trainer/ soldier/ photographer and was sent to fly over Japan before the war ended, was shot down, and survived on the beaches there getting shot at. He was the last to take aerial pictures of the country before they dropped the A-bomb 1 and 2. : ) I Love tributes and the one to your grandpa is sweet!! xox -Mark

I think losing those we love is one of the hardest things we have to go through in this life. For myself after losing my mom time is the only thing that heals us. Thank you for your poem.
