I need some body

I need some body

A Poem by Terrance Brown
"

'Remember that you are a human being with a soul and the divine gift of articulate speech' Henry Higgins, Pygmalion.

"

There is a lot of ponderous head scratching

in this hollow as a scarecrow Heathrow

where the beat neon has been bought by

the ilk of Asda and mass produced,

and a lot of arguing amongst the signs

about what is in the same direction.

Tonight that argument is followed

by the beady eyes of an everyman

in a mackintosh beside a stack of suitcases

and come to a standstill.

Thoughts slide down the stalactite of

his mind and drip off the edge,

falling clean through him and landing without a splash

in one of the hollow balls of his heels.

I know of this place and offer him directions.

Heaving a sigh, and having been saved,

he saunters off sadly still ignorant of

the god that’s in the asking.

I could not think of a title for this poem, and the title given may change. I took it from the Beatles song Help. What do you think about it?
