There Once Was a Time.

Take this as a warning.

There once was a time,
back in two thousand and ten,
when writers still scribed in notebooks
with pens.

There once was a time,
when you didn't have to pay
to see the trees or the animals
and the children were free to play.

There once was a time,
when books were bound with leather.
Not in technological prisons,
where they can be erased altogether.

There once was a time,
when the choruses would sing and chant.
Erupt with great melodies
before the government said, "you can't."

There once was a time,
when an artist could raise this brush,
set up his easel,
creativity was not hushed.

There once was a time,
when the people had it all.
Yet absentmindedly,
they let it all fall.

this is something sad and real...threatening on the horizon...i still carry my little brown leather bound notebook around with me...and everything goes into it...and i only write with a special pen...no others will do...beautifully hopeless write

I also remember those times. This piece is definitely a reminder and a warning for what very well may be near to come. I feel this should also be in a book...while there are still books to read. Great message and write!
