When you miss someoneA Poem by StolfiDeciding to stand up and move on.
[There are days when I sit by the window and quietly observe the wind kissing the flowers before it's gone]
On these days I lay on my bed and I daydream away I can feel your hands and smell your hair And it hurts just a bit to know you're not there Where I can touch you and greet the pattern of your eyes So I try to ignore how much I miss you But the angst eats me whole, it makes me cry I overthink that last night You were the best I've ever had I didn't think it would be like this How could I know we'd not be back? So now, what I have left Are these days, when I just sit back Right by the window, where the wind blows It kisses the flowers, so gently it goes And as it repeats itself, I stand there Working up the courage to leave that chair When I see both lovers: the flowers and the air The thought is so strong, I can't help but feel blue Those lovers remind me of me and you So I have no option, but to take a deep breath Close the blinds, leave the room and count to ten I owe this to me, I'll be alright once again © 2020 StolfiAuthor's Note
