Stolen Emotion

Stolen Emotion

A Poem by Erik

Stolen emotion

That sets a spark

And ends with an explosion

It leaves a mark

With the deepest reds

On my heart

From what you’ve said

And it starts

When I’m with you

It hurts me

But you have no clue

And you start to see

Why I’m so weird

For you alone

Have gotten yourself seared

Into my bones

I want to say sorry for taking SO LONG to review your work. I’m no professional in poetry, but here are my thoughts. I like the simplicity of it, as well as the short length; both these things make it approachable, even to people who know little of poetry. I like the rhyme scheme and the wording. Not just the formatting of the words, but the expressions used.

Have gotten yourself seared
Into my bones

Love this part, this is wonderful
