Storybook Road

Storybook Road

A Poem by Li Li
"

Another old piece... thought it would be a fun one to add.

"

I used to live in the city,
But I moved to Storybook Road.
I liked the change of scenery,
And the stories that were told.

The brick house on the corner,
That’s where the Little Pigs Live.
The bad wolf visited just yesterday,
But the house still wouldn’t give.

Do you see that cozy cottage?
The one up on the hill?
Jack got tired of breaking his crown,
So he moved there with Jill.

Oh, Little Red Riding Hood,
Yes, she lives here too!
She just moved next door,
To the Little Ol’ Lady in the Shoe.

Old McDonalds Farm,
Is about a mile away.
He married Old Mother Hubbard.
And together they now stay.

Then in that mansion,
Stays the famous Old King Cole.
I hear him every morning,
Calling for his pipe and bowl.

The Cow that jumps over the moon,
Lives here with the Cat and the Fiddle.
They are such dear friends of mine,
I’ve known them since I was little.

Well I guess it's time to go,
It’s near the time to sleep.
I still have to call Little Boy Blue,
To help Bo Peep find her sheep.

A brilliant peice of childhood innocence. When dreams came alive and chracters in books lept from pages to become your friends. I'm sure the people that you have mentioned here would be thrilled at what you have become. How you have used your poetic gifting to be an awesome influential woman. But like most writers you never forget your roots. There is going to be one hell of a party in Storybook Road tonight.

This is so cool, I like how you added the stories of or childhood!
It makes me want to watch Sesame Street! I'd love to live on that
road.

This rocks! You should definitely find a children's avenue to get this on the street...nicely written!
