I am the Moon

I am the Moon

A Poem by William Jones

I am the moon

and you are the ocean.

I am the moon

for while I may leave you,

you know I will always be back.

You are the ocean

for you are beautiful and calm

and yet you can be destructive and angry.

I am the moon

for I seem bright and cheerful

but you always know there is a dark side just out of sight.

You are the ocean

for you hide many dark secrets

and yet only your beauty shows.

I am the moon

and you are the ocean.
