Within you

Within you

A Poem by Christina-Marie

Beneath all the charm
There lies this broken heart
A desire to reach out
To hold his hand
Unspoken words he will not ask
Shattering thoughts bottled up
Lost in loneliness
These tears begin to fall
Fears of being forgotten
Failed attempts to bare his all
Silent screams from within
Unmuffled sounds breaking through
Yet again no one hears
Suspended here by a thread
Pursued by another fake smile
Follow me through a life
Back to the beginning
Back to days not so grim
Another faded memory he shall not be
Here is his time, will he shine

Great poem and so elegantly written too. I love your style and how you bring the words together in harmony.

This is my favorite poem of yours so far because I find it is really cathartic and relatable. I love that it begins with frustration and torment but ends on an almost uplifting note that I interpret more as things will work out for him than he is reverting to a memory of a happier time. I like that with the ambiguity, it seems it could be interpreted either way. Great job!

a very heartfelt and painful read.. i've felt this way before and you've put it into words that describe it breathtakingly well. A great effort!!

I wish I could go back to the beginning as well. A very good read here.
