Chapter Four

After Jaina had told her story the boys looked at her. "Well if things were that bad with Kyp why didn't you ask for our help?" Anakin asked as he stood up and paced the room. Jaina sighed as she lay back on the bed. "It's not that simple Annie. Really if I could have I would. Do you really think that I wouldn't have told Jacen all of that stuff?" Jacen looked at her. "Well I'm still surprised that I didn't know through the force. You usually are very easy for me to read."

Jaina sighed again as she rolled onto her side. "Jace, it's not that you couldn't read me. It's that I didn't want to worry you." She sits up and smiles at both of them. "Look you two have fun. I'm gonna go out for a bit and see if I can find something to wear for tonights dinner." Standing she headed for the door. "Later you guys. I love you both." Heading down the stairs she smiled at her mother and Winter as they walked into the house. "Bye mom, bye Winter see you later." She called as she walked out the door.

Once outside she headed to the beach to relax. The stores there always had something nice to wear to a samll family get together. She actually hated these events but would sit through them without complaint. As she walked she heard someone behind her. Turning she noticed Kyp again.

"What is it this time Durron?" She asked angrily as she waited for him to join her. He wrapped an arm around her and hugs her tightly. "Just wanted to see you love." He said. She rolled her eyes skyward as they walked together. His free hand brushing at her hair as it blew in the wind.

"Jaina, why do you hate me so?" He asked as they reached the beach a short time later. She was caught off guard by the quistion for a second. "Hate?? I don't hate you so much as I just want to be alone." She said matter of factly. "I just want you to give me some space. How hard is that?" She looked up at him.

He looked down at her then grabed her and kissed her passionately. She pushed against his arms fighting to get away but he held on tighter. Fianlly having enough of this she did the only thing she could and kicked him in the leg. He pushed her away bring his hand up as he did so. She caught his hand and used it against him tossing him over her shoulder and onto the ground. Quickly without saying anything she stepped over him and heading down the walkway. Tears filling her eyes as she thought about what they once had and then about how it all feel apart in the first place.

It had only been this last month that thing between the two of them had gotten really bad. They went out on a mission and the problems had started. Her uncle had put her in charge and Kyp hadn't liked that from the start. Then when they had gotten there all hell broke lose between the two of them.

Kyp had wanted to share a room and Jaina said no. He got mad when, as part of her cover, she took up bardancing. Then when she left the bar one night she saw him with that Twi'lek. That was the last straw. She had gone back to the Inn and packed her bags. She even called her uncle and told him that they couldn't find any information so she was bringing them home. He agreed and as she was getting ready to tell Kyp he walked into her room drunker than and pilot she'd ever seen and tried to press the last remaining issue between them.

She had told him that she was waiting. He didn't want to wait any longer and thought that now was as good a time as any. She remembered the fight that came from that night. The fight that had ended everything with them. She remembered running for the spaceport and catching the first shuttle out of there. Not caring where she ended up but knowing that anyplace was better than staying there.

Opening her eyes she found to her surprise that she'd walked right past the shope and was sitting in the sand right at the waters edge. She sighed heavily and let the tears fall freely now that she was all alone. She hated crying in front of her family and friends. She thought it made her look weak. She looked out over the dark blue waters and cried for a long time before she noticed that the sun was setting. "What a day." She muttered softly to herself.

Getting up she headed home.
