Alone Time

A Jaina Solo short story

Things were busy as always in the hanger bay when Jaina walked in. She looked around as she walked over to her XJX-Wing. She sighed as she looked down at Dagger and smiled a bit. "Ready for this munchkin?" She asked jokingly wo the little R2 unit. Dagger beeped back at her as it's head truned back and forth. The dark violet paint standing out from the basic white that was all over it. Jaina laughed as she climbed the ladder. Dagger rolled towards the vaccum and was sucked up as the vaccum moved to lower it into the holding area on the X-wings back.

Once in the cockpit she quickly went over her preflight procedures. She sat and waited for Dagger to perform hers too. As she looked out over the bay she noticed that her friends were all standing talking in a group. She shruged as the control pannle beeped at her telling her that it had finished it's checks and was clear to take off. She pulled her helmet on and pacthed herself into the control area. Getting her clearance she powered up, shut her hatch and took off heading out and up towards space.

Once in space she felt free, free of everything that was still planet side. She puushed her XJ as fast as it would go and smiled happily as she enjoyed the freedom that comes with flying ones own ship wherever and whenever one wanted to. She flew around for a long time jumping in and out of hyperspace then coming back and doing it again. She finally looked at the time and sighed as she headed planetside again. Docking in the Hanger bay she opened the hatch and pulled off her helmet. Shaking her long brugandy-brown hair out as she stood up and jumpped out of the X-wing. She landed in a crouch and smiled as she spotted Dagger on her way over to her. "Let's go eat shall we?" She smiled as she stood up and walked out of the bay and down to the Golden Saber. Flying had helped her a lot. She should do it more offten. "Maybe I will...." She said to no one as she walked into the Golden Saber and went to sit and eat.
