Sanity

I hear the doors shut behind me.

The doors to the outside world that now hide me

They keep me locked in my cell

Keep me locked away from the world outside

 

I sit here in the darkness and try not to scream

The voices I hear should just be a dream

They scream and yell at me

Keeping me awake in the dark.

 

I force them all back

Down into the pits of my soul

I fight to keep my sanity

Though the more I think about it, I wonder what for.

 

I'm wasting away slowly

In the loss of my mine

Darkness is eatting me up

Finally I realize my life is not my own.

OMG I loved it when you first read the opening verses to me but the way you ended it just left me breathless and I am surprised you are not picking up my breathless body from the floor. Everytime you write something it leaves me wanting more and more. Your works are what keep me going. Sanity is the best poem you've written to date and there are more to come, I am sure of that much to say the very least. Thank you for sharing such inner looks at your insane soul and for being my divine inspiration in everything I write and do.
