What are our real objectives?A Story by StewartI was listening to the song "A Few Questions" by a country artist by the name of Clay Walker and i was interged to write a poem about some of the subjects he touched basis on.
Why are we sending things into space when theres people dieing of starvation? Why are billions of dollars being used to make weapons when theres helpless children sitting in those white rooms at Saint Jude's? How does this make sense? What are our real priorities? Are we really trying to make the world a better place? I'll hit my knees and ask the Lord these very questions. Asking Him "What am I supposed to do?" "How can i help change all this?" Some times i feel like I ask these questions but i never look for His answers. Sometimes i feel like the answer is sitting right there in front of me. Maybe it is. Maybe the answer has been sitting under all our noses all this time. Are we looking to hard? Are we look at all these complicated ideas when it could be the simplest thing possible?
Now i'm not the Lord and i'm not going to try to answer these questions but i think we all need to look for te answers. No matter who we are, where we're from, no matter who we pray to, we all need to look for the answers and change this world. This will not work if only a few people do this so we need to get together and work together to do what's right. © 2012 Stewart |
