Robert

Robert

A Poem by Stevvy Hopson

He is a silhouette in a dark horizon,
A humble conversation to my ears,
He is the sweetest kiss in a moderately lit allyway,
His heart has the rhythm of many songs,
His smile is like a superior jewel,
His gaze makes my heart reform to butterflies,
The very touch of him is statically humming to my skin,
He is soft, enlightening, charismatic, passionate,
He is more than my brain can form earthly words,
More than my heart beating,
More than I can say.

There are words to love,
But what is a newly bloomed flower to the sun?
A spark that brings life?
Lungs filling up with air?
A heart that can't catch up to one's fast paced breathing?
Perspiration through a nervous feeling?

I could say it a million ways, and a billion times and still not think I have said enough.
There is no candle to him.
He blew all the others out to show me that the dark isn't as scary as I thought.
In fact, he is the brightest thing next to me.

As each day strains by, and I await your return, I will have a honey glazed heart and a brilliant smile on my face as you walk into the door to our home.

I love you.
