A poem about why we, or at least I, write

Forð

A picture paints a thousand words but

A word can paint a thousand pictures.

A sentence can inspire a million minds,

A paragraph can create a nation,

Can start a riot,

Define a generation or

End a war.

What, then, should we do

With a page of inspired prose?

The power it holds is absolute,

The power of gods untold.

And yet we all each day,

Read within our lives

The words that shall some day carry

The heart behind our eyes.

Into a future unimagined

We are all tick-tocked towards

And all that shall be left

Is a few, well chosen, words.

Brilliant. Not many from my generation realizes the powers of words. As far as style goes, I liked "tick-tocked"

You should read this poem I read the other day. It goes along the lines of revolution really well.

About
I love stories. I thought I'd get the simple soundbite sentance out of the way before we start. For me, i find the process of writing involves trying to slow my head down enough to write the story dow.. more..
