We seep through a city still asleep in nightmares and dreams
The night sky above covers and protects us always
Black is at it’s core and our hearts find comfort there.
A silent nod to the ships that pass by
They may know of our problems and how much we worry
Probably never see them again, but for a minute we were connected with something.
Brittle were the random thoughts throwing up ideas
No bridge laid down between the sane and the out-of-control
Flaked away before they could be sorted into a strong thought process.
Now certain streets call your name with promises and temptations
So it’s completely up to you whether you answer the call of strange nature…
Would the insides cry out, roll over and be face down in damp pillows?
Would their search lights reach across the city and find you here?
Do they even care that I’m stuck in the middle of nowhere with only a key for protection?
