Brilliant Pollen

Brilliant Pollen

A Poem by Steven Pottle

The grey muddy month that dragged you to hell’s mouth
This should seem a relief to be rid of now that he has spat you out
The worst ever news should of made you perceptive
But the shock was too much and so forced you too far inwards
Your time together with him was too thickly layered to sensibly process and move through
And the amount of effort we put into making you feel better only made things worse for you
I know light will touch your soul
You will feel this darkness fall
These words may seem alien today
The tight grip of clouds will slowly drift away
I know what I’m talking about-
For me hell’s mouth used to shout
But with good people around
And feet together on green ground
The dreadful sounds will always seem loud
Our strength will be tested- but will always be found
Please don’t tell me you want to disappear
When my hand is palmed out here…
The crying time may seem like it will last forever, but tears will pass by
We’ll supply the support and constant in this wasteland, this will subside
Each time you feel like something is withering- we will pump life back
Each time you feel like slipping under we will be there to cut through the crap
Each time you sense your petals drooping- we will summon the substance to help you grow
The brilliant pollen produced to spring you back into yourself, back into your world.
