Welcome To The Human Race

Welcome To The Human Race

A Poem by Steven Pottle

Hello Earth,
These are trees and they are green and help us to breath
So we chop them down to make way for concrete for you to puke up onto…
I hope that you can cope
Or this could be your last glassful
If the weather doesn’t get better
And the streets get wetter
Then we’ll ask for something brighter
To come and save us in the middle of the night
And I hold my nostrils closed and breath out with my mouth shut
So that my eardrums pop…
But somehow we are still deafened to what is really happening around us.
So thank you and goodbye.
