Chapter 10: Uno

Chapter 10: Uno

A Chapter by Steven Ingels

The sun came down over the mountains just As Roscoe sat down on the porch looking off in the distance. His first day was just like any other day. The door squeaked open and Mrs. Rizzo came out drinking some tea and sat down by Roscoe, “so where did you go?” Roscoe scratched his head, “Grady’s he and I made a deal that I’ll be coming over helping him out.” Mrs. Rizzo felt proud of Roscoe for doing that, “That’s good of you” taking a sip of her tea, “You know you start school on Monday.” Roscoe sighed stretching out his legs, “Yeah kind of figured that.” Mrs. Rizzo nodded her head, “Yeah and were only giving you one chance to mess up. When that one chance is up were sending you to military school.

Roscoe thought that the military and gang life were both the same, but the military doesn’t hurt people in ways you can’t explain, “Great more people telling me what to do.” It will be good for you” Mrs. Rizzo said, “plus you might be able to take on your father.” Roscoe smirked, “Yeah hope so, um where’s my room at?” Mrs. Rizzo cleared her throat, “It’s on the third floor you’ll have your own bedroom and we won’t be bothering you all the time.” Roscoe stood up thinking for a moment then looked down at his mom, “Mom I love you.” Mrs. Rizzo smiled hearing the truth in Roscoe’s voice, “I love you too” Roscoe turned walking into the house. It was hard for Noreen this past year in a half with her son in the gang and her husband and her fighting all the time. She wondered if there was something else she could have done to keep her life on hold.
