Eyes

Eyes

A Poem by Steve Kittell
"

Eyes

"

As a child I dreamed to see -

The world through older eyes.

Imagine all that I’ll see -

Growing smart, growing wise.

Growing older, wished to see -

A world through younger eyes.

Think of all the things I’ll see -

Some are smiles, some are cries.

Then I thought I should see-

The world through others eyes.

Into hearts and minds I’ll see -

All the truths, all the lies.

Now I’ve grown and I can see -

A world through my own eyes.

Always open now I see -

A world that’s all surprise.

The End

Each stanza takes the reader in a visual aspect for which each presents itself...the ideas that make up what we see as the trials of life take us --- you bring out the realities -- makes us appreciate life more...yet there is much more to see...just look around you...
