Wintry Weather

Wintry Weather

A Poem by Steve H
"

Just wrote this quickly after today/yesterdays weather haha :)

"

If ever a day was made just for sitting

I think that it might be today

Snow has been falling for hours at the window

My bed is a warm place to stay

The temperature out, the kind that makes cheeks sting

Is turning plump lips dry and blue

The wind seems to moan from under the front door

So slippers and pj’s will do

It mid afternoon but it’s already dark

The snow seems to muffle all sound

I’ll brave a quick walk to go get the paper

And hear the snow crunch on the ground

So stiff and shivering I get back home

To slowly defrost by the fire

The weather outside, while vile, looks delightful

But a dry pair of socks I require...

The winter sluggishness (hibernation), a great subject for a poem.
