A Curious Dream

A Curious Dream

A Poem by Steve H

With a twist in the darkness
The nothingness swells
As I fall through the vacuum
A single tear wells

In a world made of mirrors
I find myself sat
In the mirrors I’m different
A brooding black cat

Then the room changes
I’m stood in a chapel
Where a choir of potatoes
Harmonize with an apple

A carp on a bicycle
Throws some dice to the floor
Snake eyes start hissing
Slither out through the door

My piano is waltzing
A toilet laughs from the wall
Another twist in the darkness
And I feel myself fall

I land with a thump
Find myself in a tomb
My eyes shoot wide open
And I’m back in my room

A curious dream, indeed. I can't say I've had a dream quite like this before, but I can say that thanks to your poem I just might tonight should sleep be mine for the taking. Although it's simple word-choice it has great imagery, the poem takes place right before my mind's eye. Well done!
