Half of a Whole

Half of a Whole

A Poem by Steve H

Freindly streets don’t feel the same when you’re not there

Smiling faces, all feel cold

Sunshine isn’t quite as warm as it once was

What once was new all seems so old

Like a book without pages Ive nothing to say

Im a singer thats lacking a song

Like a compass thats broken im lacking direction

What once was so right is now wrong

Nothing hurts like love pains,

Loneliness tears at the soul

Cos im nothing with you

Im one half of a whole

I enjoyed this. It's so endearing even though it isn't based on an actual romance. The second stanza and the last three lines of the third are my favorites. It's all so true, however cheesy it may be. If this is just the start, I look forward to seeing the rest. If not, this is still lovely.

I love how you describe things. It uses such detail...i don't think it could have been written any better.
