The Man Without A HeadA Poem by Steve HJust meant for a bit of fun!
There once was a young man, and lacking a head
He set out to replace it with another’s instead
Through the streets he went walking, hands feeling the way
In search of a spherical head to display
After trying a ping pong ball he felt too light headed
A rugby ball made him feel thick, almost leaded
A tennis balls fur kept obscuring his vision
This was a search that required more precision.
He put the head of a snowman on top of his neck
But the coldness crept down so he took a rain check
He tried on a bowling ball, couldn’t quite hold it up
Tried an orange a mango a measuring cup.
He put on a clock face, was liking the look
Upside down by the evening it was back off the hook
So our young friend was fruitless and feeling the strain
Till he spotted some clay, just brown and plain
So squishing it firmly in place on his neck
He glanced in the mirror as if just to check
And using his fingers he moulded a face
He could smile, he was happy, today had been ace
