It's Been Too Long

Dear Depression,

You’ve overstayed your welcome

Unannounced you showed up, years ago

And since then all I’ve felt is oppression.

I try and scream for help

But you cover my mouth,

Tell me everything will be alright.

But it’s not.

I’ve put up with you long enough

I believe, old friend,

The time to depart has come.

I would say it was nice to see you,

But that would be a lie.

So I guess this is goodbye.
