Breaking Confusion

Breaking Confusion

A Poem by Stephen

Confusion; not knowing when to strike or back down

Never seeing past the faded veil of happiness and security

Ripping through the bad and cherishing the good

Cherishing the good…

The thing people do out of hate and sadness

Out of the wanting need of care and empathy

This is confusion in its most terrible form

Sheltering yourself from the bad that is holding the joy together

The hate that is so terrifying, people hold onto one minute strand of peace from it in order to escape.

Embracing it would be worse...

So why not find all the things that make you happy?

Why only live with one?

Quit trying to escape this demon

Eradicate it.

Who says you can’t have everything you want?

Work for it.

Quit accepting average and strive for extraordinary.

There is no reason not to.

Sadness does not have to hold you back if you don’t let it.

Look it right between the eyes where it hurts you most and tell it to “Back the hell off!”

Or, hold on to that false happiness you have created because you didn’t believe that it actually existed.

Up to you.
