Falling Tear

Falling Tear

A Poem by Stephen

Falling Tear

The silence of their voice

Is the loudest sound we'll hear

Our memories are a way

That we keep them near

We know just how they'd act

We know just what they'd say

We know just what they'd do

As they'd go about their day

Our memories are special

Of those no longer here

So keep a tissue handy

To catch a falling tear

I hate to be critical, but I was really into this until the last line. TV commercials, etc. have turned "the single falling tear" into a cliche. I have learned to tune out that phrase (purposely coined to play on my emotions), so when I read that line it shut off the feels.
