"We Need To Talk"

"We Need To Talk"

A Poem by Stephanie

"We need to talk" The four words I never thought I'd hear,

chills run up my spine, I'm filled with fear.

You grabbed my hand, and tried to speak,

You could hardly stand you felt so weak.

Your hands began to shake, as a tear fell from your eye,

you softly muttered the words "This is goodbye".

My heart sunk, as a tear rolled down my face,

when you walked away it was too much to embrace.

Pain took over my body, and I fell to the floor,

I could feel the pain burning deep down in my core.

You left me alone, with no explanation why,

to go on with my life, I won't even try.

Memories of you started racing through my head,

I began wishing, wishing I was dead.

The words you spoke stabbed me like a knife,

you're the reason I took my life..

Good :)

It's refreshing to read poetry that rhymes--so much poetry on this site doesn't. Your work is steeped in emotion, very raw and stark and beautiful. Good job. For criticism (and this is only intended to help you become better)--some lines are clumsy; either the rhythm is awkward or the rhyme seems forced. Reading it aloud can help you find those spots. Keep writing :)

Wow, that was so good! It was short but got the message across. The ending was so sad. But I loved it! :)
