A Poem by StephMichelle
"

Part two of a poem inspired by one of a friend

"

You're a dime a dozen

Think you're impressive with that smug grin

I can see you from a mile away

You swear you're game is gifted

and you'd think my skirt was lifted

by the courage in the words that you say

And despite that saying no

only fuels your ego

Those kisses that you blow

overflow

and even so

I'm not that desperate for attention

and it's not sexual tension

just frustration from the questions you repeat

Babe the most you'll get to see

is the backside of me

as my curves are strutting out of your reach.

Interesting statement of perspective....since it has apparently been a couple years from the event that perhaps prompted this piece, I only can hope things have improved in this area for you .

Boys will be mere boys I reckon. Very good report from the other end of the line. You come on strong and make a point. Very nice.

As she goes in front of me, only to tease me just out of reach and slowly, mercilessly, she walks forward . . . away . . . . and I am left, cold and hopeless and alone. Damn this one strikes close to home for me
