Idle Conversations

Idle Conversations

A Poem by Seductively Sentimental

Idle conversations fastened to fleeting time;

connection can't be sustained in this atmosphere.

Calloused emotions. Relating-

only superficially,

in vain attempts at individuality

But everyone is the same,

marching in a mindless parade

of truthless words and useless pantomime.

What is taught and what is true

are things of no relation.

Religion is simply a step to selfrighteous pride.

Plagued by the snobbery standards -

of high-society's charade

Placing meaning in senselessness,

Value in things of no consequence

All the while, the real world passes by.
