Just Me

Just Me

A Poem by Seductively Sentimental

In the dank darkness of this lonely place,

recollections dance

like shadows on the wall;

entertaining me in my melancholy state,

bringing light to fantasies I recall.

Not alone- not ever alone!

-Only isolated in this crowd.

As I remember what love used to feel like...

A whispered voice,

A delicate touch from a steady hand,

Soothing, soaring, searing its poison into my skin.

Now alone and left without.

Desiring just to feel normal again.

Where has my sanity gone?

Why am I not okay simply to be?

To be simple -

Just me.
