Frozen Over

Frozen Over

A Poem by Seductively Sentimental

All encompassing darkness

Not night, not blackness

More like a fog in my head

A silence so loud- deafening

Screams through my reasoning

Deleting the words you've spoken

A cave of hibernation

The solace of desolation

I close my eyes, playing dead

A far cry from happiness

Not warmth, not tenderness

Just cold to numb my bones

Forgetting the feelings I've felt

Of my soul, there is nothing to melt

An eraser to every memory

In this release I find my comfort

Nothing felt means nothing hurt

I let go of love; it let go of me

Hopelessness now my savior,

exempt from my behavior

I don't care who's caring now

My winter coat contains me

Resigned to what is only-

a heart now frozen over.
