Love I Wouldn't Choose

Love I Wouldn't Choose

A Poem by Seductively Sentimental

"

Another gaping hole,

another shattered glass

Another story told

of love that didn't last.

Another wound to scar,

another heart to mend,

another shooting star

to burn out in the end.

Another fashioned lie.

Another broken dream

Another hopeless cry

to someone so unseen.

If love was really true

and everything they say

Then I'd be loving you,

and you'd be here to stay.

But of the love I know,

it comes and then it leaves

To wield another blow,

and knock you to your knees

Another song to sing

of love I wouldn't choose

It comes for just one thing,

to leave another bruise

If love is really true,

then where is it today?

If love was loving you

I'll find another way.
