Part 2: The Chores of life

Part 2: The Chores of life

A Poem by Steph K
"

The magic of laundry =)

"

I created a world

Where I could escape

The dreams of fear

Over there. Missing here.

I watched the clock

Dry ticks of time

Mind rocks, fatigue, voices talk

All it is: a silent mime.

I opened the closet

No magical land

Narnia lost. Just movies, sets.

(Really decade-old mats)

Eternal time, time and sand

Sieved through a net

That held your dreams

Don’t forget

The seamless streams

Of uniforms, ties and all

Rumbling in a loud, loud groan

The imagery of machinery

The scream, the beep the final groan

Look now, laundry’s done, rips sewn.

Folded clothes, cleaned and steamed

And the iron hot, fresh and used

(Or so it seemed).

Just iron board, boredom rowed

Tireless chores,

WHAT?

Some more.
