The memoirs of mirrors, when I think of youA Poem by Steph KFamily, embedded in our mindsI watch the butterflies of yesterday, Fade away like a listless dream, And wonder what you did to pay, To go down that murky stream. They told me it was life, The circle just continuing, But somehow I felt the knife, The pain everlasting. To me they were just lies, All the winter in your hair, I saw the summer in your eyes, That wrinkly smiling pair. Perhaps it was regret, Or the feeling of remorse, But I knew I couldn’t fret, I had to be composed. For stronger are the weak, When compared to the meek, But my eyes, they still leak. As I looked for the answers that I seek. Like the petals of a rose, So smooth its bumpy waves, Life is like a pose, Moving in a silent, quickened pace. © 2011 Steph KAuthor's Note
