We must not forget

 eighty years of long shadows,

 and remember them.

Thank you Stella for remembering those horrible, terrifying years of suffering and ultimate death by gas or ovens…. I’ve been to many Holocaust Museums around America

Good evening Betty, i have just finished watching the most beautful remembrance programme on BBC tv.
Music , words and readings from Austwich prisoners and two actual survivors speaking as well .
I don't know when i have ever felt such emotion, Prince William and Catherine there too..lighting candles for others to light their candles from ... beautiful

What a dreadful thing those Nazis did that night, terrifying, i have read several accounts of it .

Up the family tree a long time ago; there is talk among the family elders of heritage, but all hush hush because of the Inquisition and such.

Such powerful words... lighting a path to peace that seems to never come. Thank you for this. My name is a German Jewish one... and we did not fare well during those darkest of days. May our remembering bring hope for the years ahead.

Hi Chris, i know it is history now to the younger generation and i do believe most are not even aware of it all .... this is another sad thing.
Maybe the Jewish familes, Poles and Roma will make their children understand ... i hope so.

It is not history here Stella. Our young ones know about it and know the importance of keeping it alive in our minds. It must never happen again. The fact that it was in Europe is even more scary.
