The Silent Snow ~ trijan refrain

The Silent Snow ~ trijan refrain

Naked trees become silhouettes

in winter’s pretty shawl,

snowflakes dancing in pirouettes

so graceful as they fall.

Oh so tranquil the silent snow

soft and serene where ’ere i go

oh so tranquil

oh so tranquil

I love this gentle warming glow.

I caught a snowflake in my hand

it turned into a tear,

then another on my eye and

I knew that He was near.

Precious moments this winter day

as all around awareness lay

precious moments

precious moments

hushed in time but yet here to stay.

This quiet evening all alone

as icy wind chimes ring

is healing all the wrongs I’ve known

renewing everything.

The hand of God is here tonight

painting his canvas pure and white

the hand of God

the hand of God

it found my heart and gave it light.

this was absolutely amazing. first, i want to talk about the times i visited the snowy parts of my country. over in toyama there are hilly roads which snowfall turns into a winter paradise. it was an unforgettable trip, and i still look over those photos. and this poem brings up that feeling.
or, if anything, it heightens it. your use of words and rhymes were exquisite. i especially liked how the snowfall turned into a teardrop. just beautiful.

one of my favourite forms Starr and not too difficult to try :)
Oh Stella, how exquisitely beautiful this is. I've always believed that winter gives us as much pageantry as autumn, with the silence of a snowfall, and trees dressed in white. "The hand of God is here, painting his canvas pure and white." As only He can!

May I say, and I did forget to mention, the stunning video! I could watch for hours the serenity it gives!

Snowflakes turning into tears...Brilliant.
And the Icy feeling of being alone...thaws when we think of loved ones and friends....
and that God painted the beautiful canvas of a snowfall.
