Mel - oh - me

A poem about someone very important to me.

Maybe it was the slight bounce in your step

Or the glimmer of light in your eyes

Maybe it was the sun behind your smile

Or the moon within the gravity of your grasp

Maybe it was absolutely nothing at all but for some utterly small or large insignificant or grand reason 

you were entirely and completely special to me

in a way which only few moments could have developed

in a way which was hard to comprehend even now as the words collide onto this page, further developing this 

story

in which is really all about you

its crazy that at some point most human beings can barely find a word to describe themselves

"tell me about yourself" they say

and you stumble across words that are as boring as

nice

kind

generous 

loving

but in reality you're more then what you say in the few seconds 

especially you

you're a thriller seeker who doesn't stop at the end goal,

who shoots for something farther and pushes herself harder than anyone else,

you make determined seem like something expected ,

as if it were written in between the letters of your own name

You take the word human and make it something worth looking at 

as if all the terrible people in the world

would cease to exist

when someone as pure and monumental as yourself

shows the world what everyone of us can be

including me. 

Maybe it was the way you always stood tall

or the immense amount of pride you held on your own shoulders

Maybe it was the confidence in your step

or the lack of fear in your bones

Maybe it was absolutely nothing at all but for some utterly small or large insignificant or grand reason 

I saw you as something i wanted to be
