The Perfect Love

The Perfect Love

A Poem by Stefano Ianiro

I felt lonely and unloved

Like a hundred freezing doves

Your eyes flew somewhere up above

My words would slip to easily

You were made too perfectly

I’m blessed to talk to such a beauty

To stare profusely in your mind

Would mean that I would have the time
To catch your heart and make you mine

Yet thoughts they ruin the things I’d say

Like I love you's in that way,

Kiss and hugs would never be the same

If our lips would intertwine

My heart would crack in separate lines

With your name molding every side,

To feel the beating in my chest
Would be the warmness of your breath

The one cold nights could not repress

Dreaming of our love to grow

Will spin my heart around the globe
Landing places that no one knows

It’s hard to stare into your eyes
When your tongue is on your side

And you’re acting just a bit surprised

Like a hundred freezing doves

Your eyes flew somewhere up above

Out of reach but not too far to love
