Why I Just Can't

Why can't I rhyme ?
Why can't I write a decent poem ?
My mind is a blank
Empty without any inspiration

I can't think of a word to rhyme with blank
Maybe clank or tank ?
Or even flank ?
But those words do not fit in the poem

What am I going to do ?
I want to rhyme and rap like Fort Minor
But nothing works
Maybe I'm just too hungry
Or too sleepy

There !
That's better
I have got nothing to say now
So, I'll bid you a good day
And leave with a bow

yor last stanza disproves you statement You can rhyme but you disregard meter
Poetry is defined by meter it need not rhyme Though I much prefer poetry which does both.
As a story writer you must be a people watcher which can inspire poetry too.
Just a different way of expressing your observations
