God Bless You, Melatonin

God Bless You, Melatonin

A Poem by Steeven

the pronunciation in an echo
is as clear as the onset of fog.
the further ventured the more muddled
it becomes. until suddenly
you step over a precipice and fall against
dream.
God Bless You, Melatonin.
soften my ears
cotton cover my vision
let me know this underdeveloped dementia,
find the syllables in the echo
but please, in dream,
let me forget
the name.

This is beautiful and so, so very melancholy; you have a word, made by our creator for protection - then you write as clear as the onset of fog (powerful) the further ventured the more muddled it becomes...I cannot help associate it with colors, of skin which conjures up all sorts of images, and strife; the beginning though the pronunciation in an echo...and to me, probably not what you meant, but I hear people say, "that black guy," but not that white guy. I find that more than strange, racist to me. This is a deep poem that I love, every single word, and underdeveloped dementia, (I can relate fully!) let me forget the name. I love this poem. So not calm, a little frenzy in there, which is well deserved. Bravo. Thank you Steeven!
