Daddy's arms

Daddy's arms

A Story by Skye
"

As a child, there's nothing quite like running into your dad's arms when he walks thru the front door.

"
I watched a video of a little girl who got a surprise birthday present... that present was her
daddy who had been in afganistan. This little girl was so beyond happy when she jumped in his
arms.. I couldn't help but think of the days daddy would walk in the house after a long days work
and us kids were so happy we jumped in his arms and yelled "Daddy!!" Day after day I couldn't
contain my excitement when he walked through that door. He wasnt gone for months or days,
actually we could walk down a pathway that we created over the years and be right there with
him at work. He would let us build things out of his scrap wood.. I made him a "table" once that
looked like it belonged to barbie and Ken but I was so proud of it and daddy always praised us
and exclaimed how wonderful we did when we built something.. even though 10 out of 10 times
it was junk... daddy always believed in us. Always. From building that table out of his scrap to
walking across the stage on graduation day. Daddy refused to give up on us. He even gave up
on himself but he would not ever throw in the towel when it came to his kids. As a kid there was
absolutely nothing better in the world than seeing daddy walk thru that door everyday after work.
I miss my daddy. Sometimes I cant even express what I'm upset over... but I know one thing is
forsure... I just want my daddy.. I miss him.
