Loving a Dream

Loving a Dream

A Poem by Here's What I Say
"

This sucks.

"

Don’t you wish dreams were real?
The green sparks fly
Walking on water and air
And nobody can die

Your soul is free to speak
Many tongues yet all understand
And many a night
Do I dream of the touch of your hand

Pick up your sword and yield it
It’s time to fight
Follow your heart
And hold on tight

I’m so frustrated
I want to punch a wall
My soul wants to be understood
And I don’t know it at all

I want you to be real
I want you to be here
Like you once were
Wiping a tear

Don’t die
Not when I can save you
No, you can’t be dead
This is too bad to be true

I’m living a fantasy
Who wants reality?
It’s so much better here
Just love, you and me

I’m drowning and it’s taking over
My armor is weighing me down
Before love was my only weapon
Once, when you were around

I want to save you
I can’t fear the way I feel
But you’re gone and I wake up alone
Because this life and love is not real

I love this! I know the feeling quite well...Waking up from a dream and wishing it were all real. Dreams really are so much better than reality most of the time. You did a wonderful job with this. There's so much emotion in it. Great work!

I agree with all other reviews, both of those lines speak to me. It's as if the were written for me to read, to give me inspiration. I do agree as well that at times the rhyming seems a bit forced, but mine usually does too.

That line really speaks to me, probably because i have felt that way so many times. I think I like your poetry better than some of your stories.

Okay, the only thing I have to say bad about this is that sometimes the rhyming is forced.. Other than that, I think there are moments of brilliance in it. Here's one:

"Pick up your sword and yield it
It's time to fight
Follow your heart
And hold on tight"

that's inspiring.
