MnemophobiaA Poem by StarryNights
To pull the trigger on these memories,
Serenading me in the darkness from reality Denying a past life, a past day of long ago time Wishing to close my eyes and see something good To not have to fear the mistakes we've made Where's the key so I can throw this all away Lock up these nightmares, conceal the fake dreams Not as strong as I pretend to be, not strong enough to fight Some days of dim light and reminiscent of what won't hold back The war storming through the corners of my brain Firearms the main attention to my thoughts The blazing guns of negativity and pain An impending doom hanging on every memory, Every terrible thought, Every foreboding feeling, Every intensified image. A mixture of reality and dream When no longer a difference is seen with eyes closed When we walk through each day, with our memories and dreams, Telling us lies and telling us fatal flaws We thought we were stronger than this, But it seems we're the ones fragile to touch The breakable glass that's cracking at the slightest push Afraid to sleep, to close our eyes What are we fighting for? © 2011 StarryNightsReviews
