The Final CountdownA Poem by StarryNightsTime is ticking, and ticking, Pretentious paranoia comes to play with the dreams, The dreams of tomorrow which have come too soon. We weren't ready, You weren't prepared; For the fighting against fate and the life clock Struggling through each day in a paralyzed figure Where's your head at? Where's your mind? Overthinking, never seeking, Hiding behind a broken down shield The clock is always moving forward. Can't escape, for time has no rules, and Fate has no jurisdiction. Watch the rainfall, it's all we own The freedom to watch what we can't control Watch time, it may speed up or slow down It may completely stop in the phobic mind You'll never know what's there until it's gone, Even with one eye open it sneaks away. Memories a passing facade of fear against time There's the past, learn from the mistakes Here's the present, try to survive and live it Where's the future? It's coming up fast Death's shadow looming nearby Are you afraid of the big bad clock? Time is ticking, always ticking.© 2011 StarryNights |
