Rise and Fall

Rise and Fall

A Poem by StarryNights

Your trapped in a steel box cage
Only seeing what it lets you see
You've given away the key to your heart
No luck in getting it back
Not without pain, not without love
Close your eyes
Smell the fragrance slipping off
Dream of that one in every blink
A flower grows...but later dies
A sun rises...but later sets
Cloudless days...turn to rainy downpours
Winds mock us in howls of laughter
Off the trees, off the grass, off the world
To your silenced ears
Breathe in the ocean before its all gone
The tide will rise then fall
Rise and fall
Heavy breathing
Rise and fall
Hum of the heartbeat
Rise and fall
Nothing falls apart completely
Only you make the decision to let it break
Fly away to tomorrow
Fly away from the pain
Now open those eyes to what's the now
Today will be the time of standing up
Never backing down
Rise and fall to the occasion
Rise and fall to the opportunity
Don't let these precious moments slip away
Live your life for every day

You wisdom is true in this poem. Life is for the active. If we fall down and give up. Only waiting for death then. I like the strong statements and the ending. Life is to be a new opportunity to do something good or worthwhile. A excellent poem.
