PoisonA Poem by StarryNightsA friend and I wrote this together
Poison seeps through our souls, we can barely breathe anymore
The poison runs through my veins and screams in my blood We sleep restlessly each night, wondering who will strike their next move How they've got the nerve to hand out the drug Is beyond my comprehension No antidote in sight I'm giving out my last breath There is no light to show...what was my life Hold me up and push me down, worthless and reckless was the way it went Now I've got nothing left to vogue for except this last breath This poison dazzled like fireworks and eventually came down Now all that's seen is darkness and I'm lost without a sound Mistakes were made, hope was lost and done The poison left is my only reminder Of what was, and what will be no more All my fears were pushed away but now have come to stay All my reasons to believe are gone and now I'm left with broken shells of the past Nothing left to hide behind, our masks have been removed and revealed Who we truly are deep inside A hollow space that lies in the back of our twisted minds Lightning strikes in the heart, sends shocks through the soul Thunder booms in our minds of these empty times Come justify their distorted ways and lead us into a new destiny Let the poison seep out in gentle flows to end our silenced pains For time won't forgot until ignorance becomes bliss Explosions tick down and destroy my mind A world once colorful goes down to a black and white film © 2011 StarryNights |
