Sunshine and Shadow

Sunshine and Shadow

A Poem by Starrweaver
"

Done at a time when I was feeling a bit more at peace with the world. Shame that those days didn't last...

"

Memories of long ago slip into my thoughts,

A childhood never lived, my youth lost in time,

How distant those days seem to me now,

Heartaches and broken promises left far behind,

I no longer feel their pain,

They are but shadows of the past.

Love is all around me here,

My children fast asleep,

My darling humming softly in the other room,

I see life through older eyes and a wiser heart,

I've no tears left for what once may have been,

For I am happy to be here and walk in the sunshine.
