Sound and Stone

Sound and Stone

A Poem by Starling

You live in colour
and all I have shines dull
Turn me to stone
and skip me into the blue
So the salt and sea
can shape me anew

I'll sink into the deep
let the water change my light
Have it bring its shine
to the hidden dark inside

You have so many songs
and I sing just the same
Curl me into waves
and throw me up into the blue
So the wind and sky
can sigh me out to you

Let its sound spill all my truths
wrapped in cotton cloud
with some meaning yet unknown
until you find me out

Is this poem about envy?- Or, might it be a way to compare and contrast lives? I get a sad feeling when a read it. Your ability to evoke imagery and emotions is really a pleasure to find in a writer. Wow!
