It controls me

It controls me

A Poem by Quinn

The beer is in my head
The wine bottle is my soul
The liqueur isle holds my spirit
I know it’s destroying me whole

Yet I year for each sip
I desire every drop
I know how much it’s hurting me
I just don’t have the will to stop

It calls to me each time
In a voice much like my own
Just from some time away from here
When it’s only me all alone

I’ve tried to fight it off
Stop me from needing each drop
But nothing I’ve done has worked out
I just can’t find the way to stop

So the drink controls me
It has all my heart and soul
It knows how to stop me fighting
Making me have each bottle whole
